1Who we are
Chess of Chaos is developed by Voidmonk, an independent solo developer. This Privacy Policy applies to the Chess of Chaos Android application.
Account deletion is available in-app, under Profile → Delete Account.
2What we collect
If you play as a guest (no sign-in)
- A random guest ID generated on your device. This has no personal info attached — it's just a way to remember your local progress.
- Local settings, cosmetics/inventory choices, and match history, stored only on your device.
If you sign in with Google
- Signing in with Google authenticates you via Supabase. Supabase and Google may process and store your email address as part of account authentication. Chess of Chaos does not display your email address to other players and does not use it for gameplay features.
- We store: an internal account ID, your chosen in-game display name, an avatar ID, and account creation/update timestamps.
Gameplay & profile data (once signed in)
- Games played, wins, losses, draws, streaks, and bot-vs-real-player result counts.
- Your cosmetic loadout and inventory (which chess piece sets you own/equipped).
- Chaos Coins and Ad Token balances.
- Online match data needed to run and resync an active match. This is deleted once a match ends or times out.
Nearby (offline) multiplayer
Uses local Wi-Fi to find and connect to nearby devices for peer-to-peer play. Match data stays between the two connected devices and is not sent to our servers.
Purchases (RevenueCat + Google Play Billing)
If you buy a cosmetic item, RevenueCat processes the transaction through Google Play. We store which entitlements (e.g. "lava_set," "jungle_set") are linked to your account so you keep your purchase across devices — not your payment details, which Google Play handles directly.
Ads (Google AdMob)
The App displays ads through Google AdMob, including both rewarded (opt-in) and standard ad formats.
AdMob may collect your advertising ID, IP address (which can indicate approximate location), device identifiers, and app interaction data (such as ad impressions) as part of showing ads.

Technical data
Standard technical data needed to run network requests (IP address, request timestamps) is processed by our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Cloudflare) as part of normal operation. We don't use this for tracking or advertising.

We do not use your gameplay data for advertising, and we do not sell your information to anyone.
5Your choices
- Play entirely as a guest, with no account or sign-in — your progress stays on your device only. If you'd rather keep your progress across devices, you can create an account by signing in with Google; that's optional, not required to play.
- Delete your account any time from Profile → Delete Account in the app. This starts a 30-day grace period — your account isn't deleted right away. If you change your mind, you can restore it yourself from within the app at any point during those 30 days, no need to contact us. After 30 days with no restore, it's permanently and irreversibly removed.
- Don't have the app installed, or can't sign in? You can also request account deletion from the web, without the app: voidmonk16.github.io/chess-of-chaos/delete-account. The same 30-day grace period and restore rules apply.
- Uninstall the app or clear its storage to remove all locally-stored data from your device immediately.
- Ads may appear at the end of a match; see the Ads section above for what that involves.
6Data retention
- Local (on-device) data stays until you clear app storage or uninstall.
- Cloud account/profile data is kept while your account is active, or until your 30-day deletion period completes.
- Active online match data is kept only for the life of the match (short-lived, typically under an hour).
7Children's privacy
Chess of Chaos is intended for users 13 years of age and older and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app and provided personal information, contact us at vymoirstudio@gmail.com and we will delete it.
8Security
We use HTTPS/secure connections for all network communication with our services. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data through our providers' security practices (Supabase, Cloudflare, Google).
9Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Material changes will be noted in the app's Google Play release notes.
